Confirmation
With You Always
The Sacrament of Confirmation seals us with the gifts of the Holy Spirit. It is understood to be a Sacrament of Initiation; that is, we are not fully initiated into the life of the Church until we have received it.
It is now common for the Sacrament to be conferred on Catholics at about the age of fourteen or fifteen but it is also conferred on adults who are being baptised or received into the Catholic Church.
Coming to Sunday Mass regularly is part of the life of the Church and helps us get ready for that moment when we can say 'Yes I believe' to those promises made at our baptism, often on our behalf by our own parents and Godparents.
Please speak to Canon Michael if you would like to have your child confirmed, or you are considering confirmation yourself. Fr Michael likes to meet one-to-one with all potential candidates first.
