About Sacred Heart

Just to the south of Bristol lies the spread out rural parish of The Sacred Heart set 'in pastures green'.

Covering a large geographical area from Dundry, Winford and Felton in the North to Chewton Mendip in the

South, Blagdon and Burrington in the West to Norton Malreward, Pensford and Clutton to the East. In all, the parish covers 26 villages and many hamlets and contains the beautiful reservoirs and nature reserves that are the Chew Valley and Blagdon Lakes. The parish unites Catholics from all these many villages and hamlets, and is warm and welcoming to visitors and parishioners alike.

The last regular Mass was held on Friday 24th Movember 2023. The Church building is now closed. However, within the parish boundaries. we are exploring ways to hold the community together in prayer and social activities. In normal circumstances we enjoy many social events such as skittles, croquet, the annual Pet Service and the Parish Lunch bringing everyone together as a parish family. We are also keen to reach out to others both in our local and global community, especially in areas that are struggling as a result of poverty and natural disasters.

We engage in many ecumenical events in our various villages as our parish covers 5 Church of England parishes and we are proud to be part of the effort to draw together all of Christ’s followers.
